It's been too long. I don't want to make another "it's been a while" post, but here we are.
Pretty much every gallery page got a bit of an update besides Animations and Challenges. I really want to get into more animations this year.
Speaking of this year, a very late - HELLO 2025!!
As for my creative goals for this year - I just want to keep creating and experimenting. No exact focus in the way of "which" way to create - I want to do it all! Crochet, drawing, painting, embroidery, knitting, sewing, animation, comics, plus some! Which ever and where-ever my creative takes me. I do this stuff for my mental health, so whatever ride that takes me on my creative stuff is sure to follow and pick up the pieces.
I may do a more in-depth post on my substack regarding my creative goals for this year in a more full of a blog type situation as an expansion to what I have written here. So look out for that to come!
Thanks for sticking around.
It has been a while since I updated this space.
It's currently SPOOKY SEASON! And in the spirit of things I have been working on this crochet witches hat you see. It isn't finished yet but has been a fun journey to make so far. I've learnt new things with this project and definitely have made many mistakes haha. But I still love how it's turning out. The question is if I can get it done by Halloween! I'm thinking so, but we will see!
The site has had some updates. Many projects were added to a number of pages...
And I even added a page for the animations I've been playing around with lately in Procreate Dreams. Check out the Animations page for those.
Big news! I have a new space to create in!! Still needs some organisation but here it is, my new art/craft room!
Alongside that, I have also done a bit of work on the site. The Craft Things page now has a menu for craft categories. Each craft category now has its own page!
Overall general update!
Added a few pieces to the CRAFT THINGS page and SKETCHBOOK STUFF page.
As well as a few bits to the DIGITAL ART page. Including this digital drawing piece..
And, finally I added the newest comic strip to the COMIC page.
Check back for more, or follow my facebook, instagram or tiktok for regular updates!
Where the Moon Flowers grow - Lelliefish 2024
Say Hello to Annie!
Awkward Annie's Awful Adventures is a comic I started in the start of 2024. I haven't done much with comics before and wanted to give myself a challenge.
The comic is a bit of "slice of life" / short daily comic strip type thing with a dark/quirky "Adam's Family"-like theme.
Finally an update of sorts!
Updated a bunch of galleries with new pieces, check them out - Sketchbook Stuff, Digital Artwork and Craft Things
It's May! which means Mermay! A month of mermaids. I've currently completed pieces for two of the prompts from the prompt list. I have done "Upside down" and "Celestial", see them below.
So apparently it's late April! I cannot believe it. I've added the "Digital Sketchbook" section in the Gallery. I've been working on pages of this Digital Sketechbook here and there for the past few months.
Check out the "Digital Sketchbook" section to see the other pages.
I've somewhat been keeping to myself most of the year so far. I have shared a small amount on tiktok and facebook about a few creative things I've been upto. But essentially just generally doing my thing...
I have been keeping 2 notebooks/journals lately. A small "travel" type drawing journal where I draw random things I see about and whatever comes to mind. That book is usually with me all the time when I'm out for appointments or something like that and I take it out when I feel like it. The other is a larger A5 blank notebook I use with a very special fountain pen that was gifted to me. In it I write random thoughts that come and somewhat document what happens in my life , again I don't use it everyday. It's a no- pressure type writing and drawing journal that I keep. It also helps me take a break from screens.
The two journals
First pages of the larger journal
Next page in the larger journal
Last page so far in the larger journal
Some content of the smaller journal
Smaller journal again
I've added some photos to the "Craft Things" gallery page as well, of some things I've been working on craftwise, including these earrings I made of my drawings...
They were really fun to make and I am very happy with the result! They were a bit of a long process to make but definitely well worth it I think.
I have some more designs of earrings I have ready to make, just have to get into the mood to make a huge mess in my art room again to make them! Haha
I honestly can not believe its nearly the end of 2022... another year gone. Unfortunately no filled sketchbook this time, but many art pieces completed regardless. This year, I participated in a few art events and challenges including "Shroom Drop" the mushroom art scavenger hunt event and "Funguary" the mushroom themed challenge in Feb, lots of mushrooms in 2022 apparently haha...
Goals and plans for next year, 2023! I'm planning on very much doing the same as this year, but much more of it. I want to at least finish my current sketchbook. Also, experiment with more digital concepts and techniques. And, of course muck about with the textile arts that have been hovering about in the background. I plan to complete at least one big crochet project that I've already started as well as a few smaller ones I have planned. And, also diving back into embroidery to some degree as well, have some planned projects there too. With a few additional secret things in the works, I wont share everything - got to keep some surprises in the mix.
My hope is that, in 2023, I can get on top of a few health related things which will enable me to have more time and energy to work on what I want to make creatively.
Other Stuff
I have added to the "Digital Artwork" & "Paper & Canvas" Galleries with a few more pieces I've created lately...
I've had a bit of motivation lately to work in my sketchbook and try and complete it.
It's a Moleskine art sketchbook I started ...at the beginning of the year, with hardly any pages with art on them unfortunately. Seriously, I'm not even half way.
I guess I've been favouring digital art a bit more lately that and I had a bit spout of no motivation for art for a while there.
There is no way I will finish this sketchbook by the end of the year. I am hoping to maybe get it done by mid 2023.
Here's hoping :)
Auctobre 2022 has come and gone. An art challenge in October with a prompt list to draw to, held by the artist Audra Auclair. I completed two digital pieces for this challenge. Although we were encouraged to draw using ink, I felt more comfortable with digital this time.
The two pieces I completed both had multiple prompts in the composition and each piece challenge me in an unique way. The first one (see below left) had me working on the lighting and shadow more than I usually would in a piece like that. And the second (see below right) had an usual foreground-background perspective that I found challenging to work with but worth it nonetheless.
Either way, I found participating in Auctobre this year to be very rewarding and look forward to the possibility of join in again next year.
Other Stuff
I have added to the "Crafty Things" Gallery with a few more projects I've been working on lately. Mainly crochet things...
Sometimes I just like to open up a blank A4 canvas in my chosen digital art program (usually ClipStudio Paint) and let loose.
I like to look around my physical space, look through books, scroll on apps, and lose myself in the web of the internet and whatever I find sparks my interest I will sketch in my icky quick method.
I don't pay attention to too many details or worry about if something comes out well. The idea is to purely enjoy the act of drawing and drawing things that interest me and I like to draw. I call these digital canvas' "Sketch dumps".
Other Stuff
I've added more items to the "Sketchbook Stuff" gallery...
I hid my art for Game of Shrooms 2022 on a somewhat wet and windy day in a quiet park.
I did not think it would be found due to the weather and due to the fact I hid it in a quiet park on a good day, let alone a not-so-great weather day haha.... However, it was found!
It was lovely when I got the message that my art was found. It made my day that my art had made someone else's day!
Update Stuff
In other new s, I've added some more items to the "Paper & Canvas" gallery and the "Sketchbook Stuff" gallery.
FINDERS KEEPERS…. I’ll be participating in the “Game of Shrooms” art drop this year and here (to the left) is an seek peak of the art that I’ll be hiding!
